How to become an Approved Applicator of the ALDOCOAT Systems
This is a question that all of us at Aldo want every contractor to ask when calling us for the first time as we work to establish an expanded group of qualified contractors throughout the country. Here are some of the key questions we consider:
is the contractor licensed in his jurisdiction? Does the contractor carry all necessary general liability insurance? Does the contractor have experience in applying roof coatings? Does the contractor have a track record of successful project applications? Does the contractor have the right equipment for applying roof coatings? Does the contractor have personnel in place that are experienced in applying roof coatings.
We expect our best prospects to have a successful history, show financially stability and be experienced in the application of roof coatings before they call. Our forte is not to take the contractor who says he would like to learn the business and teach him how. Frankly, we prefer he call another coating manufacturer, learn the process, become familiar with coatings in general for two years or so and then call us back.
We would like to have every qualified contractor in the roof coating business want to do business with us and to become an Approved Applicator of Aldo Coatings. We continue to produce high quality products and offer the most complete product line of any coating manufacturer in the business today.
As a matter of living up to the high standards we have developed over time, and in the best interests on those with whom we already do business, unfortunately we cannot turn every contact into an Approved Applicator.
Contractors who wish to become Approved Applicators gain experience with our product line, our specification and material requirements for our warranted systems. This process gives each of us a chance to get to know one another. Trust is an important consideration for both parties, especially since we are issuing warranties essentially guaranteeing the labor of the installer. We then require each contractor candidate to sign our Approved Agreement, which outlines the role and responsibilities of each party, and finally we issue a framed Approved Applicator certificate to be displayed in the contractor’s office.
