EPDM Roof Membrane Restoration for Senior Living Communities
Issue:
An exclusive senior living community had aging low sloping EPDM roof on several wings of their multi building campus. The fully-occupied facility wanted to avoid the environmental waste and inconveniences to tenants and operations that would be part of a roof replacement project and tear-off.
Solution:
ALDOCOAT 384 Polyurethane Restoration System was specified and installed as part of a three week project to restore all roof sections. ALDOCOAT 384 is a single-component moisture cure polyurethane coating with a reflective silver finish. It is ideal for restoration of EPDM membrane and low sloping roof sections.
Results:
The ALDOCOAT Restoration System enabled the operator to realize cost savings of 50% versus roof replacement in addition to the performance benefits of a 10 year extension of the roof’s life. The solution was consistent with the area’s focus on seeing environmentally friendly methods of maintenance and restoration for all private and public projects. The project was realized on schedule and within budget without disruption to the daily operation of the facility. Finally, the contractor, facility manager and occupants were all pleased with the results of the project, adding to the long list of satisfied Aldo clients.
