Fitness Facility Metal Roof Restoration

Issue:

This North Carolina fitness, sports, and wellness facility had a leaking metal roof that transmitted significant heat into the facility. Surface temperatures of the metal roof exceeded 160° during much of the year. This heat was being transmitted into the facility’s second floor cardio area, making it uncomfortable for clients working out on treadmills and elliptical machines. A related problem was the increased energy costs of cooling the facility, especially during peak demand hours.

Solution:

The facility manager did his own research on how to address this issue. He learned of ALDOCOAT 400 Premium Acrylic, its roof restoration qualities and the cooling benefits of this highly reflective cool roof coating. Two coats of ALDOCOAT 400 were applied to the entire roof surface as a solution for the roof leaks and heat being transmitted into the facility.
