At the first of last year we excitedly announced that we had broken ground on our new plant in the Whitney Industrial Park in Salisbury, NC. The new facility (a combination of new and renovated existing buildings) gives us close to 40,000-square-foot of much needed space to expand our ability to service our existing clients and position ourselves for expanded growth expanding coatings market.
Today, I am pleased to say that on March 7, 2018 Aldo Coatings officially opened the doors on that new facility with all of our staff under the same roof. The facilities include vastly expanded laboratory, manufacturing, shipping and office areas in addition to a great new training center. While the new facilities are only a few miles from our old plant and offices, they more than triple our total working space and are essential to supporting business growth without losing a step for our current customer relationships.
Consistent with our commitment to customer service excellence, our first major event held in our new home was one that allowed us to roll out the new training center. At the event held on March 21st and 22nd, we were honored to host 25 contractors from throughout the country as part of our inaugural Liquid Applied Systems Institute (LASI) which included hands-on training, educational sessions, round-table dialogue, and roll out of updated contractor programs and materials.
We look forward to more of these sessions in the future as we work to improve the understanding of best practices related to roof coatings and their application. Based on all of the feedback, the first LASI was a rich experience and we are prepared to evolve the program to meet demand and market trends.
